CAMP VOLUNTEERS

help us make camp a reality!

Y'all Rock Carbondale Rock Camp is a program for girls, trans, and gnc youth to rock out. Staff must be mature, responsible adults, pass a basic background check, and be committed to communicating and growing together.

Camp counselors are women, trans, and gender non-conforming individuals. Food crew and gear team roles are open to anyone—if you want to help, please don't hesitate to apply!

Camp-week commitments as well as yearlong organizing commitments are realized on a case-by-case basis depending on availability and position applied for.

Y'all Rock Carbondale recognizes that committing to 5 days of camp can create financial insecurity for some. We offer stipends to adult facilitators who are present for all 5 days of camp.

Volunteer Positions

CAmp Counselor

A camp counselor mentors one band, in partnership with the band coach. Counselors work to foster collaboration, communication, kindness, support, collective care, respect, and comfort in a non-competitive environment. Counselors must be patient, compassionate, and able to multi-task!

Band Coach

A band coach mentors one band all week and works to foster collaboration and communication among the band, ensures each youth is comfortable on their gear, facilitates songwriting, and preps for a stellar performance.

Instrument Instructor

An instrument instructor teaches beginning and/or advanced instruction on one instrument: guitar, bass, keys, drums, or vocals. We teach a rudimentary curriculum with the expectation that every camper has learned at least three chords for the week, can play in time, and understands gear basics (plugging in, tuning, troubleshooting).
